Operation and Cleaning of Multimill.

1.0    Purpose         :  To provide a  documented procedure for operation, cleaning of Multimill.

2.0       Objective     :   To provide a guide line  for safe operation, cleaning of  Multimill..
           
3.0       Scope           :   This SOP is applicable for operation, cleaning of Multimill.

4.0       Responsibility     :

·            Primary: Production chemist.
·            Secondary : Production officer.

5.0    Procedure  :
·           Operation:
Ø         Ensure that machine is CLEANED.

Ø           Adjust the Multimill speed as per requirement like slow, medium and fast                                                  speed

 Ø       Fix the required intact screen on base plate and tight the base plate to the                                                  Multimill.  Affix the status label of product to be milled to machine and                        container
 Ø      Fix the hopper and tight the wing nuts.
 Ø      Place the cleaned HDPE container lined with polyethylene bag below the discharge chute of Multimill.
  
Ø         Wear the hand gloves and charge the bulk to be milled in hopper of the Multimill.
Ø       Switch ‘ON’ the mains and press green button to start the Multimill.

Ø       Push slowly to be milled granules towards feeding chamber.

Ø       Check the bulk quality, as per required granules set the switch either reversed or forward and continue the milling.

Ø      During running check the Multimill for any abnormal noise, if observed then stop the Multimill immediately and investigate the reason.

Ø      After completion of milling close the container and check the weight of container.

Ø      Transfer the milled bulk drum to the designated area for further processing.

Ø      After completion of milling switch ‘OFF’ the machine by pressing Red button and mains Switch at ‘OFF’ position.

Ø      Loose the wing nuts and remove the hopper, base plate and discharge chute.

Ø      Remove the product label and affix TO BE CLEANED label to the machine
 .

               GENERAL CONDITIONS & PRECAUTIONS FOR OPERATION:
                  Ensure that machine is neat & cleaned.
                  Ensure that a motor guard is fitted properly.
               Wear the nose mask and hand gloves while working in manufacturing area.
·          Cleaning of  the Reactor:
Ø     Shake the FBD Bag using manually for remove the accumulated powder.     
Ø     Remove the FBD Bag, transfer to the wash area for cleaning. 
Ø     Wash the FBD bowl, retarding chamber, FBD bag with running potable water
--> Clean the FBD bag, Bowl and retarding chamber with nylon scrubber
Ø     Liquid soap solution to remove the adhered material of previous product.
Ø     Wash the above parts with potable water to remove the traces of liquid soap solution and after wash with methanol.
Ø     Clean the outer surface of FBD with sufficient quantity of potable water.
Ø      Clean the platform, surrounding area with sufficient quantity of potable water.
Ø      Clean the internal surface of FBD with wet duster to remove the powder of previous product.
Ø      Clean the panel board, steam line, compressed air line with wet cloth to remove
                                         accumulated powder.

Ø       Clean and dry the surrounding area.
Ø         After  affix the label CLEANED to the FBD.

          General conditions & precautions for operation:
                     Ensure that machine is neat &  cleaned.
                     Ensure that timer is working properly.
                     Wear the nose mask and hand gloves while working in manufacturing area.
                     Switch ‘ON’ the main switch during operation.
                     Ensure that before operating FBD steam and air valve should be opened.
